Visitor Centers

Ben Reifel Visitor Center

Located at park headquarters the Ben Reifel Visitor Center reopened in 2006 with new exhibits, a 95 seat, air conditioned theater, a new park film, Land of Stone and Light, and improved classroom and restroom facilities. Exhibits feature information about the Park today as well as past and recent history. Our family enjoyed it quite a bit. There are things for kids to touch and lots to read. The Park staff is very friendly and helpful with advice for planning activities. During the summer months, ranger-led programs are offered throughout the day.

There is also a small bookstore and gift shop operated by the Badlands Natural History Association. Items available for purchase include postcards, books, videos, posters, stuffed animals, and other education materials about the park and its resources.
